In Memoriam: Dennis E. Carley, Esq. (1954-2021)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of RCFP partner Dennis Carley, Esq. at the age of 67.
Dennis joined Roberts, Carroll, Feldstein and Peirce in 1985, a year after graduating with honors from Capital University Law School, and became partner in 1990. He was an accomplished civil litigator and a fierce and dedicated client advocate.
As an attorney, he brought a practical approach to everything he did, and valued working on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. He represented healthcare providers and individuals in personal injury suits and assisted businesses of all sizes with disputes.
Dennis was a great mentor to attorneys beginning their professional practice at RCFP, teaching them how to truly connect with clients by finding out who they are as individuals, what their life goals are beyond just the immediate legal need. He never shied away from hard work and attention to every detail.
“I remember going with him to a skilled nursing facility where a client lived to share the good news about winning a significant verdict on her behalf,” recalls Jason C. Preciphs, Esq., a shareholder at RCFP who worked closely with Dennis for 20 years, first as a mentee and later as a colleague. “The fact that he went there in person and the amount of time he spent visiting was something I’ll never forget. It was like he was a good friend just trying to bring happiness to her day.”
Dennis’ impact on the firm’s clients, attorneys and staff will forever be remembered, as will his dedication to his children and to a vigorous, energetic life well-lived.
